Top block (25.4 mm – 1″)
The top block is placed on top of the sample before the sample is compressed.
During the compression it seals the top of the compression chamber.
In order to avoid shunt forces, there is a gap by design between the compression chamber and the cover.
It is thus recommended (but not mandatory) to use the closing block to prevent material to leak through the gap.
